If for any reason you are running late due to issues such as traffic problems then please contact us as soon as possible and we will hang around for you.

Security Deposit

The £500.00 pre-authorised security deposit is required on collection which is refundable on safe return of the van and its contents.

Weddings and Other Events

Wedding hire is available for both vans and Hector can transform himself into the perfect vehicle for your big day by changing his interior layout. Wedding costs and hire periods are the same as weekend and weekday hire, for instance you can pick it up on a Friday and return it on Monday morning so no rush to get it back. We also offer a chauffeured wedding service. Please contact us for prices and details.

Please call or email us if you any questions regarding wedding hire or any other events such as corporate exhibitions or prom nights.

What do we need to bring?

All you will need to bring is some bedding, food, drink and any other camping equipment that you want to bring like extra camping chairs (we do provide a couple though), some towels is a good idea and of course yourselves!

Both vans come equipped with an awning, plates, mugs, cutlery, pots and pans, gas for the cooker, an electrical hook-up lead, first aid kit and torch.
We recommend that you bring a phone charger and Sat Nav in case you don’t know where you’re going!

If you need to purchase gas during your hire period (you can pick one up from a camping site or garage), keep the receipt and we will reimburse you when you return the van.

How old do I have to be to hire a van?

You need to be between 23 and 75 years of age.

I have only just passed my driving test, can I hire a van?

Sorry but you need to have a full valid UK/EU driving licence for at least 24 months.

What if I have some points on my licence?

Sorry but you won’t be able to hire the vans if you have been convicted of an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle and/or have had their driving licence endorsed or suspended or penalty points imposed. Parking and not more than two speeding offences in the past 3 years may be ignored at our discretion.

How many drivers are allowed to drive the van?

A second nominated driver can drive the van as long as they meet the conditions above.

Is insurance included in the hire price?

Yes, all our prices quoted online and otherwise include ‘Fully Comprehensive Insurance’ within the UK and on request a second driver providing they meet the necessary requirements set out in our Terms and Conditions.

Insurance is only for the vehicle and equipment that belongs to the vehicle. It is the hirer’s responsibility to provide their own insurance to cover personal items and belongings and personal injury in the event of an accident.

Can we bring our dog?

Yes we allow behaved pets to travel with you, there is an additional cost of £10 per pet to cover additional cleaning.

Can I smoke?

No, smoking is not permitted in any of our vans or awnings, it’s not too far to hop outside for a quick fag though!!

What happens if I breakdown?

In the unlikely event that our 40 year old vans breakdown, they have full AA breakdown and recovery cover in the UK. A replacement van may be offered but this will be subject to availability. The Campervans are pretty simple things really and all come with an emergency breakdown kit (cables, fan belt, fuses etc) so if you do break down the AA will more than likely get you going again quickly. We will refund your hire charge for any days you lose due to van breaking down.  If you have any questions when out on your travels then please contact us.

How many people can fit in the vans?

The Camper vans can seat four/five adults or two/three adults and two/three kids, seat belts are provided but if you need a booster or child seat you will need to bring your own. If you are getting married then Hector can transform his seating arrangement so he can seat up to 8 adults.

How many people can the vans sleep?

Hector: Can sleep 2 adults and 3 small children up to about 10 years old (2 hammocks in the pop up roof and a cabin hammock). An awning is also supplied which can be used to sleep both adults and older children.

Mollie: Can sleep 2 adults and 2 small children up to about 10 years old (2 hammocks in the pop up roof ). However an awning is supplied which can be used to sleep both adults and older children.

Where can I go?

Not that you will want to go anywhere else apart from the South West of England, but you cannot drive any further than Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset during your period of hire.

Are the vans difficult to drive?

Any competent driver can drive a Campervan so don’t be scared. However they don’t drive like modern day cars, they are quite slow, don’t have power steering, ABS or any air bags but that’s the charm of the VW Camper! So chill out and take your time getting to your destination, enjoying the experience on the way!

Where are you?

We are based in Otterton, between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton in East Devon. Please see the Contact Us page for further information.
